Special Exhibits

"Mummy Dinosaur CSI: Cretaceous Science Investigation" is at the Houston Museum of Natural Science! The exhibit includes a life-size duckbill dinosaur replica with a childrens' dig pit and many other activities. The exhibit showcases "Leonardo," a rare mumified dinosaur listed in the Guiness Book of World Records.

The Great Plains Dinosaur Museum and Field Station is proud to feature the Eichhorn Collection: "Under the Prehistoric Sea." This collection consists of rare marine fossils from the prehistoric ocean. 77 million years ago, Malta was on the coast of the large western interior seaway filled with prehistoric crabs, lobsters and other marine creatures. The Eichhorn family has been collecting and preparing marine fossils from the state of Montana for over 50 years.

In addition to special exhibits, the GPDM has many fascinating permanent specimens. It is famous for a collection of duckbill dinosaurs. A long-necked dinosaur named "Ralph" who is believed to be a new species, a Stegosaurus named "Giffen" and a prehistoric crocodile named "Arrow" are only a few of the interesting specimens to be found at the museum.
